Scoliosis Physical Therapist
We are here to provide spine-specific physical therapy to children and adults with scoliosis, kyphosis, and other posture-related issues using the following methods:
-- Schroth Method
-- BSPTS Concept by Rigo
-- Scientific Exercise Approach to Scoliosis (SEAS)
-- Lyon Method
We design these physical therapy programs based on the results of a patient’s clinical examination, spinal X-ray findings, and the patient and family’s goals, expectations, and lifestyle.
In essence, the examination and treatment are unique and specific to every patient’s needs.

How do we start?
You may contact us to schedule a FREE 30-minute consultation that will help answer your questions, align our treatment expectations and goals, or you may also opt to start with the initial evaluation.
Please take note that prior to scheduling your consultation or initial evaluation, we need to have a copy of your X-ray either sent to us via e-mail or a CD copy of it on-hand with you. This will help us maximize the free consultation.

What do we need to prepare before the initial evaluation and during every therapy session?
An email will be sent to you with links to the forms that you need to fill out and submit prior to the scheduled initial evaluation.
It is expected that you have your own yoga mat, face or hand towels or bean bags, and other things needed for your exercise. Since exercises will differ from time to time, your therapist will inform you if you need to preapare a step stool, chair, or something similar. All the necessary tools and equipments that you do not typically have at home will be brought by your therapist for the initial evaluation and treatment.
The recommended attire for boys are shorts or loose pants. girls are recommended to have their hair tied up in a bun to make sure that the back of the neck is visible, and to be in a tank-top or sports bra for the therapist to be able to see the back or spine and shorts, leggings, or loose pants.

How long is the scoliosis-specific program?
It is recommended that patients continue to do their exercises at home until they're done growing or until their surgery. Some spine doctors may even recommend physical therapy after the surgery. Typically, patients take 15-20 visits to master their initial set of exercises and 3-5 visits subsequently.
In this regard, you have the option to do a regular program with sessions ranging from 1 to 3 visits a week or do an intensive program with 5 visits a week.

How often do we need to see the scoliosis therapist?
To ensure that your current exercises are still appropriate based on the results of your most recent X-ray and that you are doing your exercises properly, it is recommended to see your scoliosis therapist again after every appointment with your spine doctor.
This will help decide if you need to change or progress your current exercises.
